After the success of her famed Porchetta sandwich shop, Sara Jenkins gives us yet another reason to be thankful this season. Yes, the wait is finally over, Porsena is here! I was lucky enough to be in attendance of the pre-opening bash at this Roman-inspired restaurant in the East Village. The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and inviting. A new addition to the neighborhood that the locals can really appreciate.
The menu’s main focus is pasta, with some appetizers and main entrees, including fish and protein. Sara plans on keeping the menu as is all year round, with of course seasonal ingredients making an appearance. The best part is that you know you can go back for your favorite pasta dish and it will still be on the menu.
So what did I eat while I was at Porsena…
If your stomach is in need for sublime pasta at an affordable price, Porsena will be your best bet. My new “go to” spot for a memorable dining experience. Thanks to the pasta queen, Sara Jenkins, for giving us New Yorkers a reason to go out for amazing, yet simple, Italian food.
